The South Lake staff came to a tentative agreement with the school board on their contracts on September 9th, 2016 at 1:00 A.M. However, they are still waiting for it to be ratified by the staff and approved by the board of education.

As of August 31st, 2016, the South Lake teacher contracts had expired. Since March, the staff negotiated back and forth with the board of education trying desperately to come up with a possible solution to this newly presented obstacle.

Seeing that the agreement is still pending, information has not yet been released on the specifics of the new contract.

Update: South Lake teachers are set to vote on whether to ratify the tentative agreement on September 14th, at 4:00pm. The South Lake Board of Education will vote whether to approve the contract at their regular board meeting at 6:30pm.

The tentative agreement was previously approved by the executive board of the South Lake Education Association (SLEA) on Monday.

If both sides approve the contract, then the new contracts will go into effect immediately.

Update: As of September 14th the tentative agreement was ratified by the South Lake staff and approved by the Board of Education. The new contracts will go into effect immediately.
