What happened to you? Why was your leave extended?
I fell down the stairs and suffered a trimalleolar break, which is when your three supporting bones in your ankle break. It was also dislocated so I had to be off of it for 8-12 weeks.
What did you miss most about being gone?
I missed all my kids and being so close to everything that was going on.
What did you miss least?
Keeping track of so many different things for all my classes.
Did your time off effect you as a teacher?
I felt like with my long term sub, Ms. Seagram, I was still at schools because I was always in contact with her. We were constantly texting and calling and it was normal for me to spend the first two hours of my day doing stuff for school.
Anything to add about your absence?
I would really like to give a shoutout to Ms. Seagram for coming in and doing everything like I would have, she did really good and was easy to coordinate with. Overall I’m just ready to get back to work.
