Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino is an American actor, writer, comedian, and rapper.
Gambino started making music in 2008. He worked really hard to get in the music world, and even came out with his on independent Album entitled Sik Boi.
He wasn’t really known until he collaborated with NBC when he started writing for the popular series 30 Rock. He also got a role playing college student Troy Barnes on the NBC series Community. He signed to Glassnote Records where he released an album under his “Childish Gambino” stage name.
I’m starting to love Gambino music from his singles “3005” and “Crawl.” Being commissioned to review Gambino’s album is what made him one of my favorite rappers today. Gambino says he was heavily influenced by Kanye West and Wu-Tan-Clan.
Gambino’s new album “Because of the Internet” features 19 new tracks. My favorite song by Gambino is a tie between “Sunrise” and “3005.” Both of them are uplifting, upbeat songs.
“Sunrise” is a track about letting his fans know he’s back on the stage and performing again. “3005” is a love song with the theme of having a good time. If I had to choose between the two I think my favorite song would be like Sunrise. It has really upbeat sound and can change my mood from mad to happy just by listening to it.
I also appreciated the different artists he had on the album such as, The Because of Internet, and newcomers such as Chance the Rapper, Jhene Aiko and Azealia Banks. G
Gambino’s album “Because of the Internet” is available on the iTunes store for $16.99 for a total of 19 tracks. I highly recommend it. Overall I would give “Because of the Internet” four out of five Shields.
