Celebration of the Arts takes place on May 10th. It will feature work from students around the district, along with a show from the High School and Middle School Bands and Choirs. The students have been working on projects to be presented in this show all year long.

“[Grade] 3-12 bands are featured throughout the night,” said Band Director Joseph Verbeke. “3-4 will be performing in the Auditorium from 5 to 8. P.M. 5-12 will be in the Gym from 6 to 8 P.M.”

The event also features work from the regular art classes along with the a Digital Photo class and even feature small finger food from the Culinary Arts class.

“I would guess that the possibility of having your artwork displayed is exciting,” said Superintendent Pamela Balint, “Many artists create for their own pleasure.”

“It’s rewarding to see everything from this year hung professionally,” said Art Teacher Leigh Ann Foshee. “Students are always thrilled to have their work displayed. This doesn’t change with age.”

The Celebration has been running for seven years now.

“We try to get as many kids as possible, we use the best art created throughout the year.” said Art Teacher Erica Marotzke. “The seniors get the option to have a portfolio to be shown.”
